Two separate areas of study make up a full CompTIA A+; you're considered competent at A+ once you've passed your exams for both specialist areas. Once on the CompTIA A+, you will learn how to build computers and fix them, and work in antistatic conditions. Diagnostic techniques and fault finding are also on the syllabus, as is remote access. Should you want to work towards looking after computer networks, you should add Network+ to your training package. This will enable you to command a more senior job role. Other ones that might be interesting to you are the route to networking via Microsoft, in the form of MCP's, MCSA or the full MCSE.
